Bardwyck helps businesses plan how to move forward as efficiently and profitably as possible. Our approach, which combines in-depth research, analysis, management experience and creative thinking, allows us to help our clients develop feasible, achievable, pain-free organisational and marketing strategies, so they can become more successful more quickly.

Our principal consultant, Patricia Mathieson, has many years’ experience working with businesses of all types and sizes. She established Bardwyck because she realised that, all too often, businesses waste money and go through untold disruption by making wholesale changes to the wrong things. She believes that quite small, unobtrusive changes can often make a significant difference to a business’s bottom line, simply by goal.

We mainly work with companies selling IT systems and software for industry, engineering and businesses with specialist IT needs, but we also offer advice and support to external consultants in marketing and financial services.

What makes us different?

  • We look at the whole business and not just at isolated issues
  • We combine sound research and investigation with being practical and down-to-earth
  • We involve our clients and take full account of their views and needs
  • We try to ensure minimum disruption to our clients’ day-to-day work

A holistic approach

Unlike other consultancies, we don’t just put in piecemeal solutions that may work perfectly in themselves, but with a potentially disastrous affect on the business’s long-term future.  Instead, we look at each business as a whole and plan its optimal strategies based on our findings.

Sound research and investigation, yet utterly down-to-earth

Our analysis tools and techniques are well established and proven, but we don’t rely on them alone. We are also very pragmatic: as experienced business owners and managers ourselves, we know the importance of spending time on the ground so we can fully understand the issues before reaching our conclusions. We also try out our suggestions before making our final recommendations. We can, if required, stay on to help you put them into practice.

Taking full account of your views and needs

We involve the client’s management team throughout each project, as well as listening carefully to the views and experience of relevant staff and stakeholders. As a result, our final recommendations will have been guided by you, and will clearly reflect the unique needs of your business.

Minimum disruption whilst solving problems

We don’t promise to be invisible: after all, if we are to make use of their experience and needs, we will need access to all the relevant people at the right times during our projects. However, we realise that you have already put a lot of work into your business, so our first port of call is to find that small tweak or two that will make all the difference. What could be more different from the huge disruptions caused by big consultancy projects?

Value for money

It goes without saying that, if we only need to make small changes, they will cost relatively little to put into place. Where we can, we deliver our work as a series of pre-defined audits, each of which has its own price attached – so our charges are completely transparent. At the end of the day, though, the benefits should far outweigh what you pay us.
